On 3rd March 2004, when this weblog was originally written, the hue and cry over Offshore Outsourcing was at it's absolute peak. The 'Shor' About Shores.. No. 'Shor' is not a spelling mistake. |
'Shor' in Hindi (India's National Language) means 'Noise'. Hence, what is this noise about Shores ? There are different shores. Some Near. Some Far. Some On. Some Off. Offshore. Onshore. Nearshore. Farshore. Different Terms to mean different locations. And different Things. Has it (perhaps) become a Bore ? Astute Readers might have noticed that I have stopped using the word 'Offshoring' and 'Outsourcing'. I use the word 'Offsourcing' instead. The three are not the same. I mean 'Outsourcing'. And 'Offshoring'. And 'Offsourcing'. Oh ! Yes. I Forgot. The Most Obvious. 'Seashore'. |
Remember our Kindergarten English Class Teacher ? We would be made to recite with great speed..... " She sells sea-shells by the sea-shore." In these Offshoring times, there is an interesting twist to the above. More on that, perhaps later. |
