ERP Jobs For Software Freshers Tip - Before thinking of getting openings in ERP, people first need to get basic technical knowledge in the Information Technology (IT) and Software fields. However, subsequent learning about ERP does not need a huge money budget but a time committment, discipline along with a passion for knowledge. And you need not be discouraged. There is always a first time to get started. Junior Software People or Freshers without any work experience should perhaps focus on getting atleast get 2 years of quality hands-on project or functional touch programming experience before thinking of switching to ERP. This could be in any Visual GUI (Graphical User Interface) Based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) language (Visual Basic - VB, Java or Microsoft's C# - C Sharp). Any and all programming knowledge helps to the extent that is not just syntax-oriented but based on a strong foundation of concepts and understanding. These will give you a strong foundation to work on any of the ERP software. It is very important to build a strong solid foundation built on technical and functional knowledge. |
(e.g. SAP ABAP'S) programming layers - Front End, Middleware or Back-End Database technologies in the future. Also, BPO or call center technical support training will not be of any immediate help for switching to an ERP career. |
Perhaps, one should first get into a software development role and then look at an ERP career a couple of years down the line. Also, in India, The Indian Government's DOE - Department of Electronics and CDAC - Center for Development of Advanced Computing have got some excellent IT courses at different levels ranging from Basic to Advanced levels. Use these to gradually move into the IT - Software field. Once confidently placed in IT, then you can try and specialize in ERP. If ERP opportunities do not come in your present organization, then strive to do an indepth study of the software applications that are are being used. Can ERP replace them ? If so, which one ? Try to have your Professional Experience and Career grow with the maturity and acceptance of IT applications in your organization. Also, try and get a quality Post-Graduate Specialised Diploma or Degree in any functional area like Materials or Human Resources or a specialized qualification like APICS ( External Link ).
